NFL Football Betting Tips â?? Week 2

- Watching the live NFL action in Week 1 has given sports bettor a lot to go on when they start to do their sports handicapping for Week 2 games. Weâ??ve circled a few games with good odds to track while planning your bets.

One full week of NFL football is in the books and people in the online betting world seem to agree on one thing: 60 minutes of regular season football teaches you more about each team than 240 minutes of preseason ever could.

What did we learn from the first week of NFL betting that can be of use for picking winners in Week 2?

One thing we know about the Chicago Bears is that even with Jay Cutler at QB, defense is still king in the Windy City. Since Coach Lovie Smith took over in 2004 the Bearsâ?? defense has accounted for 21-percent of the teamâ??s scoring (compared to league average of nine-percent). When Danieal Manning forced a safety, sacking Aaron Rodgers in the end zone in the second quarter, it looked like that unit might take over the game.

Pittsburgh is in Chicago for the Bears home opener this week and so far bettors are leaning towards the “Under” 37.5 but online sportsbook is reporting some early money showing up on the home team Bears. Bettors appear willing to give Cutler another chance at showing what he can do, this time at home.

- Atlanta couldnâ??t get the run game untracked vs. a stingy Dolphins D but HC Mike Smith is no fool. When Smith unleashed the passing game it was tough to defend and playing at home for the second straight week, Matt Ryan and the Falcons are now being asked to lay a TD vs. their divisional rivals, Carolina.

Things didnâ??t go well for QBs in Carolina, with Donovan McNabb and Josh McCown getting hurt and Jake Delhomme just plain stinking. The Eagles have signed Jeff Garcia as insurance for their home opener this week against the high-flying New Orleans Saints and online sportsbooks have been reluctant to post lines due to the injury situation. It is expected that without McNabb in the line-up the Saints will be a small road favorite.

- Sounds strange for September but in this case itâ??s not cold, wind and snow to be concerned with, more the humidity factor in cities like Jacksonville. The Jags were very good at home in September, going 16-5-1 ATS before 2007 but in the past two seasons they are 0-4 against the number. Jacksonville is a -3 point favorite at online Sportsbooks right now and with one loss already in the books we could see an extra effort out of the home side here against a visiting Cardinals team used to a much dryer climate in the desert.

NHL – San Jose Sharks vs. Chicago Blackhawks – Bet on it

NHL Hockey betting would get exciting this Tuesday night with San Jose Sharks taking on Chicago Blackhawks. Chicago Blackhawks are the home team, while the San Jose Sharks are the visiting team. Hockey betting fans are definitely in for a feast this Tuesday night. The match would be played at the United Center.

The Chicago Blackhawks would be going into this game on a high note after a 3-0 win over Detroit Red Wings. Here’s some news for hockey betting fans, Chicago Blackhawks won both the previous encounters against San Jose Sharks in November. While the first game was won by Chicago Blackhawks 4-3, the second game was won 7-2.  The game would be exciting for both general viewers and hockey betting fans as well, since San Jose Sharks have put behind their recent loosing streak and registered a thumping win over Anaheim Ducks and pulled off a 4-2 win over the Stars in Dallas. Although San Jose Sharks had impressive wins against Pittsburgh Penguins, Colorado Avalanche and Kings, their consistency is a matter of concern.

Online nhl hockey betting fans expect the match to be challenging for San Jose Sharks as they had a season full of ups and downs. After winning back-to-back against Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks and Ottawa Senators San Jose Sharks lost five consecutive matches. Chicago Blackhawks, on the other hand, are considered to rank among the league’s best teams. Although San Jose Sharks are not in a must-win state, they would definitely use this game to rate themselves against the Western Conference. Hockey betting fans must look out for this exciting match. A resurgent San Jose Sharks vs. a very confident Chicago Blackhawks.

The line in this one is much tighter with Rutgers favored by 2.5-points and the Total at 44.5.

The Scarlet Knights are -140 on the moneyline and in their last 20 games overall are 15-5 straight up.

The UCF Knights (+120 on the ML) are a decent 7-4 SU in their last 11 games overall but have been a very profitable 9-2 ATS in their last 11 starts.

Meanwhile, Rutgers has been atrocious when favored by 4-points or less, going 2-7 ATS in their last nine in that situation.

Maaco Bowl Las Vegas

The 3.5-point favorite Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles will take on the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders on Sunday in the New Orleans Bowl but a more intriguing bowl takes place the following Tuesday when the No. 18 Oregon State battle the No. 14 Brigham Young Cougars in the Maaco Bowl Las Vegas.

The Beavers are favored by 2.5-points with the Total set at 61.

While Oregon State wanted a spot in a January bowl game (the Rose Bowl) it had to settle for one in December and bettors might want to look at their December numbers, as they are quite impressive.

OSU is 7-1 SU and ATS in their last eight December games and in their last 12 in that month are 9-3 ATS.

The Cougars, on the other hand, are 3-9 ATS in 12 December games dating back to 1996.

In the Beavers’ last 20 games when favored by 4-points or less, they are 15-5 SU.

The appetizers are being served and that should only whet the appetites of bettors leading up to the big January 1st and all the BCS bowl games.

Enjoy the Bowl season kick-off.

Online Betting Uk | Bookmakers Lose £1M | Online Sports Betting

As the news spread, punters made a dash for their computers to get their bets in with their online sports books. Word was out that the financially troubled Weymouth Football Club was going to field their youth team against Rushden & Diamonds.

Itâ??s being reported that more than £1 million was paid out after heavy betting action came in on Weymouth losing this matchâ?¦and lose it they did. The rumour was in fact true and the home side cashed big tickets in one of the largest non-league football betting coups.

It all started when the entire team made the decision to go on strike due to not being paid so far this season and that there wouldnâ??t be any medical insurance for the match. That resulted in the club being forced to start the Weymouth teenage team.

Bookmakers didnâ??t know what to make of the sudden spike in volume for what would normally be a relatively obscure betting event. They immediately were forced to cut the odds as the money poured in and some even suspended the betting entirely.

Punters were said to be racing from one bookmaker to another and getting all they could down at their online bookmakers as word of the strike leaked out.

The obvious thought was that a team of 17 year olds would have no chance. And that proved to be right as they were drubbed 9-0 and all those who wagered against Weymouth cashed their tickets.

One bookmaker said “Normally £30,000 to £40,000 would be paid out on a match like this across the whole industry. But we paid out in the region of £100,000 and we are 20 per cent of the industry.”

Steve Palmer, deputy sports editor at the Racing Post, said that the match had become “the centre of the betting universe” before the game.

“Nonleague football is one of the few sports where punters can get an edge on the bookmakers,” he said. “They can have superior knowledge and the bookmakers can get caught with their trousers down.”
